Rahel Cunz received her musical training from Rudolf Bamert in Zürich and Aida Stucki-Piraccini at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Winterthur. Her studies were completed by participation in master classes of Joseph Gingold and Gérard Poulet, Boris Belkin and Rainer Kussmaul. Rahel Cunz won first prizes at a number of competitions, including the Swiss Youth Music Competition and the Brahms Competition. She received research prizes of the Migros-Genossenschaftbund (Federation of Migros Cooperatives) and the Cultural Foundation of the City and Canton St. Gallen.
Since 1994 Rahel Cunz has been engaged part-time as concertmistress of the Musikkollegium Orchestra in Winterthur. Alongside this task, she performs in concerts in a variety of capacities, both as soloist with various orchestras at home and abroad and as a chamber music musician in a variety of formations, e.g. in the Collegium Novum Zürich. She has made recordings and made guest appearances at a number of festivals.
