Thomas Indermühle, born in 1951, studied with Heinz Holliger and Maurice Bourgue. Thereafter he was a solo oboist for ten years in Holland. He won the ARD Competition in Munich and was a prize-winner at the Prague Spring. Since then, he has been active internationally as a soloist. Wolfgang Rihm, Manfred Trojahn, Akira Nishimura, David Philip Hefti and others have dedicated concertos to him. He is an important teacher, with classes in Karlsruhe and Zurich.
