The American soprano Marisol Montalvo is one of the leading performers of contemporary music today. She works closely with many of today’s leading composers including Matthias Pintscher, Olga Neuwirth, Wolfgang Rihm and Peter Eötvös. Her passionate commitment to contemporary music has resulted in regular engagements with such leading ensembles as Klangforum Wien, Ensemble intercontemporain, Remix Ensemble and Ensemble Modern.
She enjoys a particularly close collaboration with Christoph Eschenbach, who stands by her side as mentor and regular concert partner. Under his direction, and with such conductors as Daniel Harding, Vladimir Jurowski, Christopher Hogwood and Yuri Temirkanov, she has performed with the Vienna Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, LA Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Orchestre de Paris, DSO Berlin, SWR Symphony Orchestra and many other renowned orchestras.
Marisol Montalvo has sung in the world’s most prestigious opera houses. Alongside spectacular successes in other roles, she is particularly associated with the title role in Alban Berg’s Lulu – her role debut at the Opéra National de Paris was hailed by Le Monde as “a true revelation”.
