D.M. Visotzky was born in Montreal in 1955. For five years, between 1969 and 1974, he lived in New York. In 1974 he moved to Geneva, where he has lived ever since. He studied jazz and classical guitar for 15 years, and then alto saxophone. Mostly self-taught, he studied the saxophone music of Eric Dolphy and the music of pianist John Fisher. He has played with musicians such as Günther Müller, David Gattiker, Jacques Widmer, François Volpé, Denis Schuler, Scipio, and Béatrice Zawodnik. He recently began to compose contemporary music.
