The ENSEMBLE ALGORITMO was founded in 2002 by Marco Angius founded with young musicians who are dedicated to contemporary music and were already established on the international scene. The ensemble's recording activities received the highest recognition with the ‘Amadeus 2007’ record award for Recording of the Year in the contemporary repertoire for Mixtim by Ivan Fedele (Stradivarius), a co-production with Rai Radio3.

Algoritmo has performed at numerous festivals: Biennale Musica in Venice (2007), La Filature in Mulhouse (2005), Romaeuropa Festival (Musica XXI), Warsaw Autumn (2003–2006), Concerti del Quirinale 2005, Traiettorie in Parma (2006 and 2008), Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte in Montepulciano (2008), Italian Music Days in Krakow (2005), Nuova Consonanza (2002–2006), Scuola Civica in Milan (2003), Teatro Comunale in Modena, Dissonanze in Naples (2008), Radio3/Concerti Euroradio. In 2008, the ensemble began collaborating with the masterclasses for composition at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
