Biography:
Florian Donderer received his initial training in Berlin with Myrna Nordstrom and Bernhardt Hartog. After further studies with Prof. David Takeno at the Guildhall School for Music and Drama in London, he completed his training in Berlin with Prof. Thomas Brandis, whose long-standing assistant he was. During this time, he received a scholarship from the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
Florian Donderer was concertmaster of the Ensemble Oriol Berlin and the Kammerakademie Potsdam. From 2002 to 2008, he was professor of violin at the Conservatoire in Groningen (Netherlands). Today, he is concertmaster of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
A particular focus of his musical life lies in working with chamber orchestras. Building on the classical role of concertmaster as orchestra leader, Florian Donderer is increasingly devoting himself to conducting and works with outstanding soloists such as Lisa Batiashvili, Christiane Oelze, Hélène Grimaud, Lars Vogt and David Fray. Florian Donderer is an enthusiastic chamber musician.
He performs regularly with his partner Tanja Tetzlaff, her brother Christian Tetzlaff and other musician friends. He has played at the MusikTriennale in Cologne, the Beethovenfest Bonn, the Ultraschall Festival in Berlin, the Ultima Festival in Oslo, the Vestfold Festival in Tonsberg (Norway), the Helsinki Early Music Week, and is a regular guest in Heimbach, where he participates in the Spannungen festival directed by Lars Vogt.
