Biography:

Franck Bedrossian, born in Paris in 1971, studied composition with Allain Gaussin and later at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris (Gérard Grisey, Marco Stroppa). In 2001/02, he attended the composition course for electronic music at IRCAM, studying with Philippe Leroux, Tristan Murail and Philippe Manoury. At the same time, he attended courses with Helmut Lachenmann. In 2001, he received a scholarship from the Fondation Meyer and the Fondation Bleustein-Blanchet, in 2004 the Hervé Dugardin Prize from SACEM, in 2005 the Pierre Cardin Composition Prize from the Institut de France (Académie des Beaux-Arts) and in 2007 the SACEM Prize for Young Composers. Since 2008, Franck Bedrossian has been teaching composition at the University of California, Berkeley.
