Biography:

Gunnar Brandt-Sigurdsson was born in Hamburg in 1969, the son of artist Sigrid Sigurdsson and teacher Lothar Brandt.

Professional career: Studied singing and vocal pedagogy (HfK Bremen under Prof. Maria Kowollik), graduating with a diploma. Participated in master classes, most recently with Georges Aperghis in Berlin. Trained as a state-certified breathing, speech and voice teacher (Bad Nenndorf) and sound engineer (School of Audio Engineering, Hamburg).
Intensive study of the songs of Stefan Wolpe – together with pianist Johan Bossers, Brussels. Live broadcast of this programme in March 2006 from the Radio Bremen broadcasting hall; tour of seven European cities with a staged version from January 2008.

Regular collaboration with composers of contemporary music and with improvising musicians and vocalists, including Dietrich Eichmann, Alexander Frangenheim, Michael Griener, Lilian von Haußen, Chris Heenan, Alison Isadora, Nederlands Vocaal Laboratorium, Samir Odeh-Tamimi, Christoph Ogiermann.

Concert performances in Germany, other European countries and San Francisco at the invitation of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Goethe Institute.

From 2002 to 2005, teaching position for singing at the University of the Arts Bremen. From 2005 to 2007, lecturer for media practice in music at the University of Bremen.

Various roles as a sound engineer in live and recording settings.
