Biography:
Igor Andreev is an internationally active concert pianist, organiser, accompanist and piano assistant at the universities of the arts in Bern and Lucerne. Born in Kaliningrad, Russia (formerly Königsberg), Igor Andreev discovered his passion for the piano at the age of five and was encouraged to pursue his talent at the conservatory in Saint Petersburg at a young age. He continued his studies at the Bern University of the Arts in the class of Prof. Tomasz Herbut, where he was awarded the Tschumi Prize for best graduate in 2017.
Igor's skill and enthusiasm for music have been recognised with numerous prizes at major competitions (including the Concours de Genève, UNISA Piano Competition in South Africa, Hamamatsu Piano Competition in Japan and the Rina Sala Gallo International Piano Competition in Italy). As a soloist and chamber musician, Igor performs in concert halls and at festivals worldwide (including Victoria Hall, Casino Bern, Tonhalle Zurich, Auditorium di Milano, St. Petersburg Kapella, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Interlaken Classics and Murten Classics).
Igor Andreev also enjoys working as an organiser. He directs the world's only piano trio festival, the Piano Trio Fest in Bern, and the newly founded ensemble Sinfonietta Bern. He is also a founding member and pianist of the Bern Piano Trio.
