Biography:

Belgian pianist Johan Bossers, born in 1961, is an internationally sought-after specialist in contemporary music.

He won the Orpheus International Competition for Contemporary Music in 1987 and became assistant to his teachers Frédéric Gevers and Levente Kende at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp. He co-founded the Champ d'Action ensemble, played with various contemporary music ensembles (e.g. Ictus, QO-2, Spectra, Collectief) and worked with major symphony orchestras in Belgium and as a répétiteur for the Brussels opera house La Monnaie.

Johan Bossers is intensely involved in contemporary, experimental music theatre. His solo career began with the first recordings of works by Giacinto Scelsi; his internationally recognised authority on the work of Stefan Wolpe is evidenced by several CD productions, including many first recordings.
