Biography:

MALIN BÅNG, born in Sweden in 1974, studied in Piteå, at the Berlin University of the Arts, the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, and the University of Gothenburg, and attended masterclasses with Brian Ferneyhough, Gérard Grisey, Philippe Manoury, Philippe Capdenat, Chaya Czernowin, Walter Zimmermann, Friedrich Goldmann, and Ole Lützow Holm.

Her works are performed worldwide. In 2010, she was awarded a scholarship from the Darmstadt International Summer Courses for New Music for her ensemble piece Turbid Motion. In 2011, she received five years of support from the Swedish Arts Council. She is composer in residence and a founding member of the young Swedish contemporary music group Curious Chamber Players.
