Composer, conductor & piano
Biography:
Maria Baptist began playing the piano at the age of six, adding music theory and composition shortly thereafter. She first studied classical music, then jazz piano and finally composition at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin and at the New School in New York.
Maria Baptist has won numerous prizes at national and international competitions and performs throughout Europe, the United States, South Africa and Cuba. In addition to her numerous engagements as a musician, the artist, born in 1971, has been teaching as a visiting professor at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin since 2001.
