Biography:
Born in the Vosges, Olivier Dartevelle studied music in his hometown of Remiremont and in Nancy, before attending the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. Olivier Dartevelle is principal clarinettist with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg and performs as a soloist and chamber musician. He also teaches at the Conservatoire National de Region in Nancy. He plays the most important concertos in the clarinet repertoire and works with conductors such as Philippe Herreweghe, Leopold Hager, Carl Davis and David Shallon. A passionate chamber musician, he founded the Trio Jericho, which is particularly dedicated to unknown repertoire. Olivier Dartevelle is also a composer; his catalogue of works includes chamber music and various instrumental cycles.
