Biography:
Ondřej Adámek, born in Prague in 1979, studied composition at the Academy of Music in Prague and at the Conservatoire in Paris. He composes orchestral, chamber, vocal and electroacoustic music and collaborates with contemporary dance choreographers.
Adámek has received numerous commissions from major festivals and ensembles. His works have been awarded several prizes. In his musical language, Adámek combines elements of contemporary classical music with transformed musical elements from other cultures (e.g. Bali, New Caledonia, Japan and Andalusia). In 2010/2011, Ondˇrej Adámek is a guest of the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Programme.
