INFINITUS The Uninterrupted Movement (CD 2)

This double CD revolves around the idea of the One in the Many and the Infinite in the Finite. The starting point is a concept that Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz condensed into the formula omnia ad unum : Everything returns to the One, everything unfolds from it. Unity and diversity, simplicity and complexity, movement and stillness are not understood here as opposites, but as states that merge into one another.

At the center of CD 2 is INFINITUS, a perpetuum mobile for piano. It appears as a self-contained whole and at the same time as an open system designed for infinity. Its course has no actual end—it can only be interrupted. Music can be experienced here as uninterrupted movement, as a process that sustains itself and renews itself from within.

CD 1 develops these ideas in different tonal perspectives. OMNIA for organ, instruments, and countertenor is part of the “Sicilian Trilogy” and deals with the whole that develops from the simple. Voice and instruments represent the one and the many, the simultaneity of sacred vision and worldly experience. In this sense, the work appears as a musical summa.

SIMBOLO DI PACE takes this idea into the realm of silence, reduction, and contemplation. Peace is understood here not as a state, but as an inner attitude—as the responsibility of the individual toward the whole.

DIALOG MIT MOZART combines historical memory with contemporary musical language. Quotations and transformations from Mozart's work enter into a lively exchange that makes simplicity, joie de vivre, and formal clarity audible as timeless values.

The opening SALUT for trumpet and organ signals the beginning and the encounter. The organ—as the central instrument of this project—appears beyond liturgical constraints as the voice of history and the present, of knowledge and faith, of human lament and cosmic vastness.

This edition understands music as an ongoing dialogue: between times, ideas, and people—open, flexible, and focused on the whole.
