Biography:
Rahel Cunz received her musical training from Rudolf Bamert in Zurich and Aida Stucki-Piraccini at the University of Music and Theatre in Winterthur. She supplemented her studies by attending masterclasses with Joseph Gingold and Gérard Poulet, Boris Belkin and Rainer Kussmaul. Rahel Cunz won first prize in various competitions, including the Swiss Youth Music Competition and the Brahms Competition. She received sponsorship awards from the Migros Cooperative Association and the cultural foundations of the city and canton of St. Gallen.
Since 1994, Rahel Cunz has been employed part-time as concertmaster with the Musikkollegium Winterthur orchestra. In addition to this role, she performs in a wide range of concerts, both as a soloist with various orchestras in Switzerland and abroad and as a chamber musician in a variety of ensembles, e.g. the Collegium Novum Zürich. She has made radio recordings and has been a guest at various festivals.
