Biography:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HORST LOHSE, geboren 1943 in Kulmbach, studierte Komposition bei Helmut Eder in Salzburg und Bertold Hummel in W\u00fcrzburg. Schwerpunkte seines \u0152uvres sind Vokalkompositionen (u.a. nach Rub\u00e9n Dar\u00edo, Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca, Wolfgang Hilbig, Ingo Cesaro und Gioconda Belli), experimentelles Musiktheater (Sabelita-Szenen), Tanztheater (Die Abenteuer des sch\u00f6nen Mahan) sowie Ensemble- und Orchesterwerke im Dialog mit Philosophie \/ Mythologie (La morte d\u2019Orfeo, Sisyphos, Turm der Winde), Bildender Kunst (Die Zeit ist ein uferloser Fluss, Prelude of Spring, AllerleiRauh, Tor zur Tiefe) und Literatur (A. Schmidts Monde, Epitaph f\u00fcr Nizami, Nachtst\u00fccke). Auftragswerke schrieb er f\u00fcr den Bayerischen Rundfunk, die Bamberger Symphoniker und zahlreiche Ensembles f\u00fcr Neue Musik (ars nova ensemble, Ensemble Phorminx, Grupo de M\u00fasica Contempor\u00e2nea de Lisboa, Janus Ensemble, oenm . oesterreichisches ensemble f\u00fcr neue musik, Antidogma-Ensemble, Pegnitzsch\u00e4fer-Klangkonzepte u.a.). F\u00fcr sein Schaffen erhielt Horst Lohse den Friedrich-Baur-Preis der Bayerischen Akademie der Sch\u00f6nen K\u00fcnste, den E.T.A.-Hoffmann-Preis der Stadt Bamberg, den Kulturpreis der Oberfrankenstiftung, den Orchesterkompositionspreis des Kulturkreises der Deutschen Wirtschaft und der Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Neue Musik sowie den Kompositionspreis der Stadt Stuttgart. 1986\u20132010 war er K\u00fcnstlerischer Leiter der Tage f\u00fcr Neue Musik Bamberg, 1987\u20131993 Dozent und Juror beim Kompositionswettbewerb der Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland. Gastvortr\u00e4ge und Portraitkonzerte f\u00fchrten ihn zu Festivals in Deutschland (Pianoforum \u00bb\u2026antasten\u2026\u00ab Heilbronn, Tage Neuer Musik Weimar, Musica rara Festival Erfurt u.v.a.), den Niederlanden (Made in Leiden), Italien (Festa Europea della Musica Rom), Frankreich (Semaines musicales internationales d\u2019Orl\u00e9ans), Irland (Mostly Modern Series Dublin), Polen (Westival Sztuka Architektury Szczecin), Rum\u00e4nien (George Enescu Festival Bukarest), Russland (Sound Ways St. Petersburg), den USA und Brasilien (Festival Eleazar de Carvalho).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
