HANNA WEINMEISTER, born in Salzburg, studied violin with Bruno Steinschaden and Gerhard Schulz (Alban Berg Quartett), followed by two-years in Zakhar Bron’s master class in Lübeck. She has received prizes in numerous international competitions in London, Paris, and Salzburg. She gave her debut in the Großer Musikvereinssaal with the Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg. Since then she has been a guest at many renowned festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein-Musikfestival, the Salzburger Mozartwochen, the Kammermusikfest Lockenhaus, and the Berliner Festwochen.
Tours as a soloist and chamber musician have taken her throughout Europe, to Japan, and the United States. In 1997/98 she was a guest in the concert cycle “Rising Stars,” with performances in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Philharmonie in Cologne, the Musikverein in Vienna, and Carnegie Hall New York, among other places. For several years she has been in charge of the violin class for concert performance at the Musikhochschule Bern. In addition to her siblings, her partners in chamber music include Gidon Kremer, Christian Tetzlaff, Alexander Lonquich, Heinrich Schiff, Eduard Brunner, and Alexei Lubimov. Since 1998 she is first concert master of the orchestra of Oper Zürich.
