Johan Bossers (born in 1961) won first prize in the International Orpheus Competition for Contemporary Music in 1987 and became assistant professor to his teachers Frédéric Gevers and Levente Kende at the Koninklijk Vlaams Conservatorium Antwerpen.
He performs regularly with the Ictus, Champ d’Action, QO-2, and I Fiamminghi ensembles, with whom he has recorded various CDs and premiered countless new compositions in collaboration with the composers.
He was for several years a répetiteur at the Royal Opera House "La Monnaie" (Brussels) and worked with Belgium's symphonic orchestras.
His work is concentrating more and more on contemporary and experimental musical theater. He has made premiere recordings such as Giacinto Scelci’s Suite No. 11 for piano and lieder by Stefan Wolpe.
