Pirmin Grehl studied in Karlsruhe and Berlin with Renate Greiss-Armin and Jacques Zoon. He is a prize-winner of several national and international competitions. At the International Carl Nielsen Flute Competition in Odense 2002 he won First Prize. He has also won prizes at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. Since 2002 he is Solo Flute in the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.
He has appeared as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio, the Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra and the Radio Orchestra of the SWR, as well as with chamber orchestras such as the Chamber Orchestra Berlin, the Münchener Kammerorchester and the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester. Pirmin Grehl has made many radio and television appearances. In 2006 he made his Japan debut as soloist in Suntory Hall in Tokyo with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.
