Max Simonischek, born in 1982 in Berlin, completed his drama studies at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. He has had engagements at the Vienna Burgtheater, the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, the Munich Kammerspiele, the Salzburg Festival, the Stuttgart and Frankfurt Theatres and the Deutsches Theater Berlin, among others. In addition to giving readings in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, he regularly appears in front of the camera for film and TV, for example as a commissioner in his own ZDF TV series Laim or in the feature films Der Verdingbub, Am Hang, Akte Grüninger, Die Göttliche Ordnung and Zwingli. For his theatre work, Max Simonischek has received the Vienna Theatre Prize NESTROY and the Friedrich Luft Prize for the “Best Berlin Production”. For film work, he received the German Television Prize for Hindenburg, the Swiss Television Prize for Der Verdingbub and two nominations for the Swiss Film Prize as “Best Leading Actor”.
