infotext:

George Frideric Haas creates music of hypnotic power. Under the simple title ... and ... he forces ensemble and electronics, microtones and a tempered system together in his own unique way. In the world premiere concert in September 2008, this turned into twenty-seven minutes of extreme suspense, jointly created by the SWR Experimental Studio and the Collegium Novum Zurich under the direction of Enno Poppe. The insistent character of these sounds goes well with the no less powerful vision Who, when I screamed, heard me... with percussion soloist Martin Lorenz. On the other hand, completely different, cheerful and relaxed thoughts of the composer Haas are shown in a piece made up of solo voices, which ... out of free will ... can be combined - for example here to form a chamber music quartet intermezzo.

The overtone master
Georg Friedrich Haas explores new atmospheric worlds

He is considered number one among living Austrian composers, and today he is celebrating his sixtieth birthday: Georg Friedrich Haas. Alongside Friedrich Cerha [...] Haas is actually one of the most interesting and innovative composers, not only in Austria but also in the international avant-garde.

[…] The Collegium Novum Zürich under the direction of Enno Poppe, the drummer Martin Lorenz and the experimental studio of the SWR in Freiburg have succeeded in creating perfect, even overwhelming performances.
