Biography:
Italian flutist Mario Caroli is one of the most highly regarded solo flutists on the international scene. He studied under Annamaria Morini and Manuela Wiesler and was awarded the prestigious Kranichsteiner Music Prize in Darmstadt at the age of 22. He performs regularly at the Berlin Philharmonic, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Lincoln Centre in New York and the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
Under the baton of Boulez, Cambreling, Eötvös, Holliger, Ono and Rophé, he has performed as a soloist with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai, the German symphony orchestras of WDR and SWR, the national orchestras of Belgium and Iceland, the Tokyo Sinfonietta, the Percussions de Strasbourg and the Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart. He performs at numerous festivals, including the Salzburg Festival, Ars Musica, Musica, Settembre Musica, Traiettorie, and Akiyoshidai.
