Biography:
The conductor Tito Ceccherini, born in Milan in 1973, studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan with Prof. Giovanni Carmassi (piano) and Vittorio Parisi (conducting). Further studies took him to Germany, Russia and Austria.
Tito Ceccherini is a committed interpreter of contemporary music. He works intensively with composers such as Salvatore Sciarrino, Alessandro Solbiati and Stefano Gervasoni. Among the numerous world premieres he has conducted are the posthumous performance of Niccolò Castiglioni's Sette and the opera Da gelo a gelo by Salvatore Sciarrino at the Schwetzingen Festival, the Opéra National de Paris and the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
He conducts major orchestras such as the SWR Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai (Turin) and famous ensembles such as Klangforum Wien, Contrechamps, OENM and Ensemble Divertimento. His CD recordings have been received with great enthusiasm by audiences and the press alike and have received awards such as the ‘Choc’ from the trade journal Le Monde de la Musique and the ‘Diapason d'Or’.
