The new work by our artistic director Detlef Heusinger, The Foundlinghouse, intertwines the music of George Frideric Handel with his own music, seeking to combine nostalgia with curiosity. In doing so, he draws on Handel's late oratorio The Triumph of Time and Truth. Like Handel before him, Heusinger composed, conducted, and was responsible for the staging of this production. In doing so, he also reflects a common practice of the Baroque period. The work features renowned musicians such as Inga Schäfer (soprano) and Klara Tomljanovič (guitar), the latter of whom recently released a CD on our label.
