In 2007, Kent Nagano conducted the world premiere of his new musical theatre piece at the Munich Opera Festival. In addition to interpreting his own compositions, his piano repertoire focuses on music from the 20th and 21st centuries.

His work has received numerous awards: Günther Bialas Composition Prize, scholarship from the City of Munich, Bavarian State Prize for Music, Rodion Shchedrin Chamber Music Prize, scholarship from the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris.

The emotionally charged music, which is not bound by any dogma, is influenced by the rhythms and harmonies of his Greek heritage and moves between ancient Greek literature, philosophy and modern science.
