Biography:

Mischa Damev, born in 1963, studied piano with Alexis Weissenberg in Paris and Nikita Magalov in Geneva. On the advice of his mentor Mariss Jansons, he began to focus on conducting in 1991. After his successful debut with the Bulgarian National Radio Orchestra and at the Sofia Opera, he worked for several years as assistant to Mariss Jansons, Georges Prêtre and Vladimir Fedoseyev.

Mischa Damev has conducted orchestras such as the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra Moscow (principal guest conductor), Orchestra di San Carlo di Napoli, Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Noord Nederlands Orkest, Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra Bratislava, Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice and Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse. Mischa Damev's career also includes CD productions for Master-prize Competition (Decca). In 2007, Mischa Damev was appointed Head of Music MGB at Migros Culture Percentage.
