Biography:
The ENSEMBLE REFLEXION K is Germany's northernmost new music ensemble based in the Baltic Sea resort of Eckernförde in Schleswig-Holstein. It was created in 2001 on the initiative of young, ambitious musicians and deals with the work of the most diverse composers from Germany and abroad in a concentrated, consistent, critical and conceptual way. This results in unconventional projects that include spatial, scenic and interdisciplinary aspects.
Since the ensemble reflexion K got involved, a lot has been happening in Schleswig-Holstein: the ensemble's concert series in Kiel culminated in the ›Chiffren‹ festival in 2006; In addition to the concert series ›Neue Musik Eckernförde‹, the festival ›Provinzlärm‹ was created in 2007 in the Baltic Sea resort of Eckernförde.
In addition to performances throughout Germany, concert tours have taken the musicians of ensemble reflexion K to the USA, Italy and Lithuania. In 2004 they were guests at the ›Before the Symbol‹ festival in Baku/Azerbaijan, where they presented contemporary music from Germany in concerts and workshops. In 2005 they accepted an invitation to the ›Roaring Hoofs‹ festival in Mongolia.
In 2003 the debut CD of the ensemble ›Musica su due dimensioni‹ was released.
