Biography:
The German-Dutch Ensemble S was founded in 1998 by Arnold Marinissen, Stephan Meier and Peppie Wiersma, who studied percussion at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. They appear at numerous European festivals and are characterized by unconventional forms of performance. Since 2002 their ›Circus S‹ has been touring Europe with programs of spatially conceived music in their own tent. In 2002 they received the prize of the ›Stiftung Kulturregion Hannover‹. Her production Le noir de l'étoile was awarded the German Record Critics' Prize, and Le Temps et l'Ecume received the Diapason d'or.
