Biography:

Gunnar Brandt Sigurdsson was born in Hamburg in 1969, the son of the artist Sigrid Sigurdsson and the teacher Lothar Brandt.

Professional career: Studies with a diploma as a singer and singing teacher (HfK Bremen with Prof. Maria Kowollik). Participation in master classes, most recently with Georges Aperghis in Berlin. Training as a state-certified breathing, speech and voice teacher (Bad Nenndorf) and as a sound engineer (School of Audio Engineering, Hamburg).
Intensive engagement with the song work of Stephen Wolpe – together with the pianist Johan Bossers, Brussels. Live transmission of this program in March 2006 from the broadcasting hall of Radio Bremen; Tour through seven European cities with a staged version from January 2008.

Regular collaborations with composers for contemporary music and with improvising musicians and vocalists, including Dietrich Eichmann, Alexander Frangenheim, Michael Griener, Lilian von Haussen, Chris Heenan, Alison Isadora, Nederlands Vocaal Laboratorium, Samir Odeh-Tamimi, Christoph Ogiermann.

Concert activities in Germany, other European countries and in San Francisco at the invitation of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Goethe Institute.

From 2002 to 2005 he taught singing at the University of the Arts in Bremen. From 2005 to 2007 lecturer for media practice in music at the University of Bremen.

Various activities as a sound engineer in the live and recording area.
