Biography:

HANNA WEINMASTER, born in Salzburg, studied violin with Bruno Steinschaden and Gerhard Schulz (Alban Berg Quartet), followed by two years of study in Zakhar Bron's master class in Lübeck. She has won prizes at numerous international competitions in London, Paris and Salzburg. She made her debut in the Großer Musikvereinssaal with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg. Since then she has been a guest at many renowned festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Salzburg Mozart Weeks, the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival and the Berlin Festival Weeks.

Tours as a soloist and chamber musician have taken her throughout Europe, to Japan and the USA. In 1997/98 she was a guest in the »Rising Stars« concert cycle with appearances a.o. in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, in the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Cologne Philharmonic, in the Musikverein Vienna and in the Carnegie Hall New York. For a few years she led a concert training class for violin at the music academy in Bern. Her chamber music partners include her siblings, e.g. Gidon Kremer, Christian Tetzlaff, Alexander Lonquich, Heinrich Schiff, Eduard Brunner and Alexei Lubimov. Since 1998 she has been the first concertmaster of the Zurich Opera Orchestra.
