Biography:
The Swiss-Dutch contralto Maria Riccarda Wesseling sings her versatile repertoire of title roles on the big stages of the world: e.g. Opéra national de Paris, Lincoln Center (New York), Teatro Real (Madrid), Staatsoper Unter den Linden (Berlin) and Ruhrtriennale. She works with outstanding orchestras (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra), directors (Krzysztof Warlikowski, Peter Sellers, Pina Bausch) and conductors (Teodor Currentzis, Thomas Hengelbrock). Her discography includes solo albums as well as chamber music and complete recordings.
