Biography:

The American soprano Marisol Montalvo is currently one of the most sought-after protagonists of contemporary music. She works closely with many of today's leading composers, e.g. with Matthias Pintscher, Olga Neuwirth, Wolfgang Rihm and Peter Eötvös. Her passionate dedication to contemporary music results in regular engagements with leading ensembles such as Klangforum Wien, Ensemble intercontemporain, Remix Ensemble and Ensemble Modern. She works particularly closely with Christoph Eschenbach, who is her mentor and regular concert partner. Under his direction and with conductors such as Daniel Harding, Vladimir Jurowski, Christopher Hogwood and Yuri Temirkanov, she performed with many well-known orchestras, e.g. Vienna Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, LA Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Orchester de Paris, DSO Berlin and SWR Symphonieorchester. Marisol Montalvo has sung at the most internationally renowned opera houses. In addition to great successes in other roles, she is particularly associated with the title role in Alban Berg's Lulu - Le Monde celebrated her role debut at the Opéra National de Paris as a "true revelation".
