Martin Mumelter

Violine

Biography:

Martin Mumelter, born in Innsbruck, studied violin in Innsbruck and Philadelphia. Since early youth he has distinguished himself through international concert activities with a special interest in music of the 20th century.

With his Ensemble Concertodrom, Mumelter performed for years with programs that mixed improvisations and compositions of the most diverse styles, and in the 1970s he was already trying to overcome fears of the unknown towards classical and new music with a great response.

In addition to numerous LP and CD recordings of music from the 20th century, Mumelter has also published articles in anthologies and specialist journals, as well as radio plays and prose texts. Since 1985 he has been a full professor at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
