Biography:

Ralph Ludewig, artistic director of the Tölz Boys' Choir, was born near Bad Tölz in 1967 and studied in the Tölz Boys' Choir from 1974 to 1981 with Prof. Schmidt-Gaden. As a boy soloist he sang u. a. under Herbert von Karajan, Claudio Abbado and Nikolaus Harnoncourt in the major opera houses and concert halls at home and abroad.

He completed his education in Holland and Osnabrück in the fields of singing, conducting and school music. He was instrumental in building up the Bach ensemble for early music in Holland. As a voice trainer and choir director, he taught at various music schools in northern Germany. In 1997 he received his diploma as a speech therapist.

Prof. Schmidt-Gaden brought him back to the Tölz Boys' Choir in 2002, where he has been artistic director together with the choir director since 2009.
