Biography:

Sabine Liebner is primarily active as an interpreter of new music. Numerous radio, television and CD recordings as well as invitations as a chamber musician and soloist to international festivals document her artistic work. She works on projects with composers such as Olga Neuwirth, Jörg Widmann, Franco Donatoni and Christian Wolff, among others, and plays numerous premieres and first performances.

In 1998 and 2007 she received the music award from the city of Munich, in 2005 a scholarship for music from the city of Munich and in 2007 she was selected as the German pianist recommended by the Goethe Institute.

In recent years, Sabine Liebner has been particularly interested in American composers of the 20th century. Her repertoire of American music includes works by Henry Cowell, Earle Brown, Christian Wolff, Pauline Oliveros and Tom Johnson. She plays almost all of the compositions for piano by John Cage and Morton Feldman.
