Biography:

Im Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich around 100 musicians play around 50 different programs in over 100 concerts each season. Musicians from around 20 nations come together in the orchestra. Guest performances have taken the orchestra to 100 cities in over 30 countries. In addition to the orchestra projects, the musicians also create their own chamber music series and can be experienced as soloists in a separate series. Chief Conductor and Music Director Paavo Järvi is the 11th Chief Conductor of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich; David Zinman is its Conductor Laureate. More than 40 CD productions have been released: e.g. Complete recordings of all symphonies by Beethoven, Mahler, Brahms and Schubert. The first recording with Paavo Järvi was for orchestral works by Olivier Messiaen and was awarded the Diapason d'Or in 2019.
