Biography:

Axel Gremmelspacher Studied at the music academies in Freiburg, Boston and Hanover with Robert Levin, Raymond Santisi, James Avery, David Wilde and with John Perry in Toronto on a scholarship from the Rotary Foundation and the Canadian government. His studies led to an artist diploma in 2001 (Toronto) and in 2003 to a soloist exam with distinction (Freiburg). He received important artistic impulses in master classes with Leon Fleisher, André Laplante, Marc Durand, Wolfram Christ, Hansheinz Schneeberger, Jörg Widmann and Robert Aitken.

He appears in solo recitals and as a chamber musician in a wide variety of ensembles, in particular with the violist Julia Rebekka Adler, the clarinettist Zoltán Kovács, the flutist Maiko lshiguro and as a member of the Trio Eusebius; he was a guest of the Ensemble Surplus several times. Axel Gremmelspacher is a lecturer at the State University of Music in Trossingen and at the University of Church Music in the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart.
