Biography:

The baritone Christian Miedl after winning the national competition ›Jugend musiziert‹ (1) studied song and oratorio at the Salzburg Mozarteum with Wolfgang Holzmair; In 1999 he graduated with honors. His singing teachers were Kjellaug Tesaker (Salzburg), Margreet Honig (Amsterdam) and Abbie Furmansky and John Norris (Berlin). Master classes with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Waltraud Meier and Gabriele Schnaut complemented his studies.

At the international singing competition ›Francisco Viñas‹ in Barcelona, ​​Christian Miedl received the concert prize in 2003; other awards were the prize of the Stiftung Deutsches Musikleben and the gold medal from his hometown of Passau. Christian Miedl is currently engaged at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe. Guest contracts led him u. a. to the Wuppertal Opera House, the Bremen Theater and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. He receives invitations to various recitals: Swiss ›Festival du Lied‹, Schubertiade Vilabertrán (Spain), Hugo Wolf Birthplace (Slovenia), Villa Wahnfried in Bayreuth. Christian Miedl works with conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Kent Nagano, Dennis Russell Davies, Peter Eötvos, Enoch zu Guttenberg, Claus Peter Flor and Yoel Levi.
