Christopher Keller

Biography:

Christopher Keller was born in Glarus (Switzerland) in 1950. He studied piano with Sava Savoff at the Zurich Conservatory and conducting with Francis Travis at the Musikhochschule Freiburg im Breisgau. Since 1970 he has performed as a soloist and ensemble musician in numerous countries and has made various television and radio recordings.

Among his numerous CD recordings are u. a. the complete recordings of the piano and chamber music by Hanns Eisler and Albéric Magnard. He has also worked as the musical director of theater productions, e.g. at the Zurich Schauspielhaus in Christoph Marthaler's production the beautiful Miller and at the Volksbühne Berlin in The Mastersingers directed by Frank Castorf.

In addition to his artistic work, Christoph Keller is also active as a journalist. From 1984 to 2000 he was editor-in-chief of the music magazine Dissonanz/Dissonance. From 1986 to 2010 he worked as a music producer for the Swiss radio DRS. He has been a pianist in the Collegium Novum Zurich since 1997 and was its artistic director ad interim in the 2004/2005 season.

Christoph Keller has lived in Zurich since 1971.
