Ensemble time jump

Biography:

The ENSEMBLE ZEITSPRUNG, founded by Markus Elsner in 2006, has a permanent place in Munich's concert life as an ensemble for contemporary music with unusual program concepts. The ensemble sees itself as a flexible »instrument« for today's composers. At the same time, the musicians deal intensively with the repertoire of the 20th century and programmatically relate it to current music. Outstanding artists such as the violist Wen Xiao Zheng, the bayanist Elsbeth Moser or the sheng virtuoso Wu Wei played with the ensemble, joint projects were realized with the via-nova-chor Munich and the Quasars Ensemble from Bratislava. In addition to the ZEITSPRUNG series in the Gasteig, there has been a separate series in Munich since 2014 with the talk concerts »2 x listen«. The ensemble has been cooperating with the Bamberg New Music Days since 2011, and has been invited to festivals in Germany, Austria, Luxembourg and the Ukraine. The ensemble's concerts have been recorded by various radio and television stations.
