Biography:

Igor Andreev is an internationally active concert pianist, organizer, répétiteur and piano assistant at the Universities of the Arts in Bern and Lucerne. Born in Kaliningrad (formerly Königsberg) in Russia, Igor Andreev discovered his passion for the piano at the age of five and was promoted at a young age at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. He continued his studies at the University of the Arts in Bern in the class of Prof. Tomasz Herbut, where he was awarded the Tschumi Prize for the best graduate in 2017.

Igor's skills and enthusiasm for music have been recognized by numerous prizes at major competitions (including the Concours de Genève, UNISA Piano Competition in South Africa, Hamamatsu Piano Competition in Japan and the International Piano Competition "Rina Sala Gallo" in Italy). As a soloist and chamber musician, Igor has made guest appearances in concert halls and at festivals around the world (including Victoria Hall, Casino Bern, Tonhalle Zürich, Auditorium di Milano, St. Petersburger Kapella, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Interlaken Classics and Murten Classics).

In addition, Igor Andreev likes to work as an organizer. He leads the world's only piano trio festival "Piano Trio Fest" in Bern and the newly founded ensemble "Sinfonietta Bern". He is also a founding member and pianist of the Bern Piano Trio.
