Biography:

Martin Lorenz, born in 1974, studied drums in Zurich, Amsterdam and Paris. His interest in music theater led him to master classes with Jean-Pierre Drouet and Georges Aperghis. He has been working as a freelance drummer in the field of contemporary and experimental music since 1997 and realizes solo and chamber music projects with various partners. He premiered works by composers such as Beat Fehlmann, Edu Haubensak, Michael Heisch, Mischa Käser, Daniel Mouthon, Daniel Weissberg and Alfred Zimmerlin. In addition to appearances in Switzerland, concert tours have taken him to Germany, Italy, China, Japan, Egypt and Estonia. Martin Lorenz is a member of the Collegium Novum Zurich.
