Stefan Irmer

Piano

Biography:

Stefan Irmer became known as an outstanding interpreter of unknown and rarely played works of piano literature. For the first time he played the complete piano works of Gioacchino Rossini from the Péchés de vieillesse (sins of old age) on a total of eight thematically designed CDs. These recordings, highly acclaimed by domestic and foreign critics, received numerous awards (e.g. Echo Klassik 2008). Other CD and concert projects focus on the piano works by Sigismund Thalberg, Gabriel Fauré and Jules Massenet. Extensive tours and concert engagements as a soloist, accompanist and chamber musician have taken Stefan Irmer a.o. to Sweden, Finland, Norway, England, France, Italy, South Korea, Japan and Colombia as well as to many international festivals.
