Biography:

Thomas Roesner has been chief conductor of the Biel Symphony Orchestra since 2005. He has conducted orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the DSO Berlin, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the MDR Symphony Orchestra in Leipzig, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, the Orchester du Capitole de Toulouse, the Orchester National de Bordeaux, the Houston Symphony Orchestra and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra.

In the field of opera, Rösner made his debut in 2005 with Glyndebourne Touring Opera. In 2005 and 2006 he conducted Verdi's Il trovatore with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra at the Bregenz Festival. Thomas Rösner has made guest appearances at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Semperoper Dresden, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the New National Theater Tokyo, the Théâtre de Châtelet in Paris, the Edinburgh Festival and the Rome Opera.
