Aleph Guitar Quartet

Andrés Hernández Alba, Wolfgang Sehringer, Christian Wernicke, Tillmann Reinbeck

Biography:

“…but whoever puts his ear to its surface declares that he will soon hear its busy roaring.” (Jorge Luis Borges, from The Aleph)

The four musicians of the Aleph Guitar Quartet are enthusiastic about the music of our time. Since the quartet was founded in 1994, they have been working intensively with composers, sound engineers and acousticians to advance the musical language and playing techniques of the 20th and 21st centuries. In the meantime, an extensive, new and future-oriented repertoire for classical guitar has emerged. This is constantly being expanded by a number of renowned and young composers.

Andrés Hernández Alba, Tillmann Reinbeck, Wolfgang Sehringer and Christian Wernicke regularly give concerts at international music festivals such as: MaerzMusik (Berlin), Guitar Foundation of America (USA), Eclat (Stuttgart), Steirischer Herbst (Graz), Warsaw Autumn, Archipelago (Geneva) , MusicadHoy (Madrid), Pan Music (Seoul), Klangspuren Schwaz and Time of Music (Viitasaari).

The quartet is funded by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, the Goethe Institute, the Spanish Ministry of Culture, the state of Baden-Württemberg and the ZKM | Institute for Music and Acoustics.
