Biography:
Dietrich Petzold, born in Bad Berka (Thuringia) in 1954, studied the violin in Weimar and Eisenach. He has been active in various jazz formations since 1974. Since 1980 numerous compositions for drama, radio plays and film have been created. He is currently an acting musician and composer at the Staatstheater Cottbus, he also gives concerts (mainly in the field of improvised music) and does the sound control for numerous live recordings and studio productions (e.g. for IMG Artists, Deutschlandradio Kultur, Deutschlandfunk).
