Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra Moscow

Biography:

The orchestra, founded in 1930 as the ›Great Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra‹, was renamed ›Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra Moscow‹ (Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra Moscow) in 1993 because of its extraordinary commitment to the interpretation and dissemination of Tchaikovsky’s work. The orchestra has gained international renown not least because of its continuous collaboration with important chief conductors and guest conductors. Personalities such as Alexander Orlov (founder and first chief conductor of the orchestra), Leopold Stokowski, Evgeny Mravinsky, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Lorin Maazel, Kurt Mazur and Vladimir Fedoseyev, who has been the chief conductor of the orchestra since 1974, have had a decisive influence on its development. Fedosejev shaped the specific melodic-emotional style that makes the orchestra so unmistakable and has brought it enthusiastic approval worldwide. In addition to the classical and romantic repertoire, the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra Moscow also cultivates contemporary music; numerous composers have entrusted their works to the orchestra for the world premiere. The orchestra is a regular guest at the most important European festivals and concert halls; Tours have taken it through the USA, Japan, Korea and China.
